all-purpose flour

baking powder

baking soda

old-fashioned rolled oats
1/2

butter
at room temperature
3/4

brown sugar
1/2
cup
granulated sugar
1
large
eggs
at room temperature
1
teaspoon
pure vanilla extract
1
cup
Honey Bunches of Oats cereal
*optional- candy coated chocolate pieces
Instructions
Mix flour, baking flour, baking soda, salt, and oats together.
Beat butter and sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla and mix well.
Gradually add flour mixture and beat until well blended.
By hand, stir in cereal.
Using a spring-release scoop, form dough into even size balls.
Place dough balls on waxed paper and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Place dough balls on cookie sheet.
If you choose to add the candy-coated chocolates, place them on the top now.
Bake 8 minutes at 350 degrees.
Remove and allow to cool 2 minutes on cookie sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
I used Cinnamon-flavored Honey Bunches of Oats in these cookies.
