Sweet Sour Cream Bananas makes a quick, tangy, and healthy snack! The sour cream adds tang and brown sugar adds sweetness which is just about the greatest combo ever! Itโ€™s a no-cook dessert thatโ€™s perfect for when you want something fast but satisfying.

What I love most about it is how you can whip it up in minutes with ingredients you probably already have at home. AND, it’s a great dish that kids can make themselves.

Here’s the thing: you will get hungry between meals and want to snack at times. But there’s no need to worry or stress. Keep healthy options to reach for in these times. It would be best if you had options that are good, healthy, and take little or no prep time like Monster Munch and frozen yogurt bark.

When I trained for half marathons, I stayed hungry. But even if you’re running a ton, you’ll still gain weight if you overconsume. That’s when I started planning snacks. Even though I titled this blog post ‘Healthy Lunches‘, I ate these recipes for a snack often.

I know you’re probably telling yourself, ‘This is the craziest combination of ingredients I’ve seen. This can’t taste good.’ I thought the same thing until I tried it. I saw this recipe in a pamphlet years ago in college. It was so weird I had to try it. I’m so glad I did.

But, also, if you’re familiar with Grape Salad that’s the same concept here. Grape Salad is made with grapes, sour cream (or Greek yogurt), sugar, and a sprinkle of pecans. So, see, not so strange… ๐Ÿ˜‰

Tips for making Sweet Sour Cream Bananas

  • Blend Just Before Serving: This dish is best served fresh. The longer bananas sit, the more they break down and release moisture, making the dessert watery.
  • Adjust the Sweetness: If you prefer it sweeter, you can add more brown sugar. You can also drizzle a little honey on top for an extra layer of sweetness.
  • Chill for a Refreshing Twist: Pop the mixture in the fridge for a few minutes if you want a refreshing, cool dessert.
