Surprise Million Dollar Pie is the perfect combination of creamy, nutty, and sweet flavors, packed into one unforgettable dessert. I combined a luscious cream cheese base, brown sugar, chopped pecans, Snickers candy bars, pineapple, and sweetened coconut.

Crushed pineapple adds a refreshing twist and Cool Whip ties everything together into a light, airy masterpiece. This no-bake treat is as indulgent yet simple to make.

Why We Love Surprise Million Dollar Pie

PMc says:

Surprise Million Dollar Pie is a treat that feels fancy but is surprisingly simple to make. The combination of creamy filling, crunchy nuts, and sweet candy pieces makes every bite satisfying. It’s a dessert that works well for parties, potlucks, or even as a special treat for your family. What we love most is how customizable it is—swap out candy bars or add a little extra coconut to make it your own.

What’s the surprise?

The real surprise in Surprise Million Dollar Pie is the chopped Snickers candy bars hidden inside. These little bites of chocolate, caramel, and nougat add an unexpected twist that takes the pie to the next level. I adore the chewy sweetness and crunch of Snickers! This addition turns a classic dessert into something fun and memorable, perfect for impressing guests or indulging your sweet tooth.

It would also be fantastic with Bourbon Caramel Sauce drizzled on top!

Millon Dollar Pie Tips

  1. Prepare the Crust: Make sure your vanilla wafers are crushed finely for a solid base. A food processor can make this step faster, but a zip-top bag and rolling pin work just as well.
  2. Room Temperature Cream Cheese: Let the cream cheese soften before mixing. This prevents lumps and creates a smoother filling.
  3. Drain the Pineapple: Removing extra liquid from the pineapple is crucial to avoid a runny pie. Press it gently with a paper towel if needed.
  4. Fold Gently: When adding the whipped topping, use a folding motion to keep the mixture light and airy. Avoid overmixing, which can deflate the texture.
  5. Chill Time: Let the million dollar pie chill in the fridge for a few hours before serving. This helps the flavors meld together and the pie to set properly.

Surprise Million Dollar Pie FAQ

1. Can I use a store-bought crust?
Yes, a pre-made graham cracker crust works as a quick alternative. However, the vanilla wafer crust adds a unique flavor that complements the filling.

2. What can I use instead of Snickers?
You can substitute any candy bar with similar textures, like Milky Way or Reese’s. For a less sweet option, try chopped dark chocolate and extra pecans.

3. How long does it last?
Store the pie covered in the fridge for up to 3 days. The crust may soften slightly over time, but the flavors remain delicious.

4. Can I freeze Million Dollar Pie?
Yes, it freezes well. Wrap it tightly with plastic wrap and store it in an airtight container for up to one month. Thaw in the fridge before serving.

5. Is there a way to make it less sweet?
Use unsweetened coconut flakes and reduce the amount of candy bars or brown sugar for a milder flavor.

Instructions

Crust

  • In a bowl, combine the melted butter and crushed crackers. Pour into your pie pan. Using the bottom of a flat glass or measuring cup, lightly but firmly press the crust down into the bottom and up the sides of the pie pan. Place the crust in the refrigerator or freezer while you make the filling.
7 tablespoons butter, 2 cups vanilla wafers

Pie filling

  • In the bowl of your electric mixer, beat cream cheese and brown sugar until smooth.
9 ounces cream cheese, ⅔ cup brown sugar
  • With the mixer on low, add the chopped Snickers, pecans, coconut, and pineapple (drained) to the bowl. Stir until combined.
10 mini Snickers candy bars, 1 cup pecans, ¾ cup sweetened coconut flakes, 8 ounces crushed pineapple
  • Reserve 1/2 cup Cool Whip. Fold the remaining Cool Whip into the cream cheese mixture by hand using a silicone spatula.
  • Spoon the mixture into your prepared pie crust. Spoon the reserved Cool Whip over the top. Refrigerate 6 to 12 hours to set before cutting. (You can refrigerate for less time but you probably won't get clean pie slices.)
  • Store in the refrigerator. It'll store nicely for 3 to 4 days before the crust begins to get soggy.
