Sloppy Joe Quesadillas Ingredients
The ingredients are short and simple for this recipe.
The full recipe with ingredient amounts and instructions is at the bottom of this post. You can save a tree and the recipe to your personal and private recipe box here on Call Me PMc. This way, youโll never misplace it.
- 16 ounces of Hunt’s Manwich sauce or homemade Sloppy Joe sauce recipe below in the recipe card.
- Ground beef. I like to use a lean ground been, but the higher the fat content the more flavorful it will be so choose accordingly. You can also use ground turkey or ground chicken.
- 6-inch tortillas. You can use gluten-free if desired.
- Muenster cheese. You can substitute cheddar, Colby, Pepper Jack, Monterrey, or any other good melting cheese.
- Oil. A good nuetral flavored oil.
- You can also add bell peppers and/or onions if you want.
Make it spicy
Is you like a little heat, you can add ground cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes, minced jalapeno, or my Sweet Heat Pickled Jalapenos. How much you add will depend on how spicy you want it. Start with a pinch and taste.
Brown the hamburger meat
Heat a 10-12-inch cast iron skillet to medium-high heat. Add the meat to the pan and break into large pieces with a wooden spoon. Let it cook for several minutes.
Next, break the beef up tinto smaller pieces as it cooks. Stir occasionally until meat is cooked and no pink remains. Drain if desired.
Use the cook beef immediately, refrigerate for up to 7 days, or freeze for 1 month.
Meal Prep
You can cook the hamburger meat and sauce in advance and refrigerate or freeze it until you’re ready to cook. Thaw it in the microwave and then make the quesadillas. This makes getting a meal on the table super fast and easy!
My boys enjoy quesadillas for snack. They especially like Shrimp quesadillas, bbq pulled pork quesadillas, and chorizo shrimp quesadillas. You may enjoy enjoy watching this quesadilla video!

Some people complain about everything. It is their toxic outlook in life. Your recipes found delicious, so Iโm on my way to the store this morning to buy all 3 flavors of Manwich sauce! Iโm so looking forward to it! Thank you!
Thank you, Judy!
These look so fabulous that we featured them this week on Wonderful Food Wednesday – stop by and see your feature! We hope you’ll come back and link up more delicious food this week ๐ Thank you for participating and sharing your recipe.
It’s so funny that I found this recipe from the Saturday Show Stopper! My husband has been asking me to make manwich for years. Want to laugh? I thought the meat was in the can and that grossed me out so I never made it. I recently told him why I hadn’t made it and he laughed at me..for obvious reasons. Okay, I’m ready to try this so thank you so much for sharing. Pinning and making this. ๐
lol, we never ate them growing up, I think I did in college. My mom was a from scratch person so she wouldn’t have bought it. Yes, meat in the can would not be good! ๐ I really, really like the Bold and the Thick and Chunky flavors and the dip is out of this world!
Oh miss Paula. Your dip and quesadillas sound super yummy. I can’t wait to bust out my sauces and make them!
I love dips, I should be ashamed to admit I ate this for dinner!! (but I’m not!)
One other way I’ve used the Original Manwich that we really liked was to drain a couple of cans of water-packed tuna to mix with it. Then layer with a slice of sharp cheddar and a pineapple ring on the bun. We called it The Big Kahuna! That smoky tangy flavor is surprisingly good with the lightness of the tuna…
That’s a great idea, Kathy!
I just found your blog through Homework Wednesday and I am now your newest follower on bloglovin. I haven’t had Manwich in a very…… long time and I am not a fan of ground beef but while I was reading it I thought it would probably be good on Chicken. I love the quesadillas and the dip idea. Fabulous! I hope you might stop by my blog sometime and http://homeandlifestyledesign.com

I had not either and really enjoyed them, esp the quesadilla and dip! I’m not much a burger person either. I’m trying it with ground turkey next time.
Not sure when you did it, but I love the new look of your page.
I grew up on Manwich, well, in my teens. Always loved it. A quick easy meal that even the teens can do.
I didn’t remember liking it so much, but it’s really good, especially the dip!
