Equipment you’ll need to make Sausage Stuffed French Bread
Ingredient Substitutions
- For the bread, you can use any large loaf of unsliced bread. Italian and sourdough bread are good replacements.
- You can use turkey or chicken sausage.
- You can omit or use more cream cheese if you want. My family doesn’t love it so I used just enough to hold the sausage together. I don’t recommend using low-fat or fat-free sour cream.
- Since this isn’t a ‘baking’ recipe, you can adjust the eggs to your liking. If you like eggs, use more. If not, omit or use less.
- Regarding the seasonings… I’m not a fan of garlic in breakfast recipes. However, you can add 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder if you want.
- Not a fan of spice? Substitute pepperoncini peppers or bell peppers for the jalapenos.
- Of course, any melty cheese will work. Monterrey, Pepper Jack, Colby, and Havarti are all good.
