No Bake Banana Pudding Twinkie Cake

This is the best Banana Pudding. I elevated it using Twinkie snack cakes as the base. Piled on top is a rich, cream cheese pudding, bananas, then whipped cream.

If you need a dessert and don’t like to bake, this is a delicious way to make one without baking. You can use any plain snack cake like mini pound cakes, coffee cake, or vanilla SuzyQ.

Furthermore, you can use slices of pound cake or sponge cake. This is a good way to use dried-out cake.

How to make Banana Pudding Twinkie Cake

I used Twinkies as the base and didn’t have to cook a cake. You could make a simple yellow cake or pound cake slices as the base if you choose.

Cutting the Twinkies horizontally, I placed them in the bottom of a 9×13-inch glass cake pan. (See below.) You could also use a trifle bowl. It’ll take one 10-count box of Twinkies. Hostess makes a Banana Twinkie that you can use. I used the vanilla flavor.

For the pudding, I used my Magnolia Bakery Banana Pudding recipe. It has a cream cheese base and instant pudding, Cool Whip, and milk. Silky and smooth, the pudding oozes into the cracks and crevices and makes the Twinkie cakes incredibly moist.

Sliced bananas and ready-made whipped cream top this delicious dessert.

I garnished my Twinke Cake Banana Pudding with crushed vanilla wafers. You can sprinkle chopped walnuts and pecans on top. You can also decorate with maraschino cherries, banana slices, or Twinkies.

Instructions

  • Slice Twinkies horizontally and place cut side up in a 9×13 inch pan.
  • In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add milk and instant pudding mix and mix until smooth.
  • Fold half of the Cool Whip into the pudding.
  • Pour the pudding over the Twinkies and smooth.
  • Thinly slice bananas and lay on to of the pudding in one layer. Top with remaining Cool Whip.
  • Sprinkle vanilla wafers over Cool Whip if desired. Refrigerate 30 minutes. Serve.
  • Store in an airtight container up to 3 days. I find the bananas get too soft for my liking after that.
