Homemade Apple Pie Spice

You probably already have the ingredients for Homemade Apple Pie Spice right in your cupboard. Apple Pie Spice is made up primarily of cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. I added ground ginger and cardamon to my recipe.

You can use this seasoning blend in any recipe that calls for cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice. The major spice in pumpkin pie spice is cinnamon as well.

At the time I made these apple recipes, I wasn’t using my Homemade Apple Pie Spice. However, you can use it instead of the cinnamon and spices in these recipes.

  1. Apple Fritter Cake
  2. Best Caramel Apple Cobbler
  3. Apple Cinnamon Coffee Cake
  4. Homemade Apple Pie Nachos
  5. Fresh Apple Cake

Additionally, stir this spice blend into vanilla ice cream, sprinkle on toast, toasted tortilla chips, and in pancake batter.

Most noteworthy, making your own seasoning blend is economical. Store it in a glass jar in your spice cabinet or freeze it to preserve it even longer.

Homemade spices make great gifts for Christmas, birthday, a housewarming gift, or a hostess gift.

To gift, simply get a cute jar, ribbon, and print a cute tag. A quickย Etsy.comย search turned up a lot of gift tags that you can download and print at home.

Tips for making the best spice rub

  1. Always use fresh spices and seasonings. Check the date or write the date you purchased it on the container. Toss after itโ€™s six months old.
  2. This recipe can be multiplied easily. Double or triple the recipe for gift giving.
  3. Youโ€™ll needย measuring spoonsย for this recipe. The shape of these allows them to get into narrow jar openings.
  4. For gifting, I like theseย spice jarsย or you can find a set of spice jars on Amazon for less than $15.
