Grilled Chicken Quarters, juicy and moist every time, this chicken is great for dinner, entertainment, and game day!
We spend a lot of time grilling especially in the warmer weather. It’s only natural that I share our favorite grilled chicken recipe with you.
GRILLED CHICKEN QUARTERS
Chicken is one of my most favorite proteins. It’s also the reason we have it a couple of times a week. Chicken is probably also the hardest meat to grill. People freak out over undercooked chicken that they over-cook it. Over-cooking leads to dry, rubbery, and tasteless chicken. Using my recipe and these cool testers, you won’t have to worry about that.
Don’t forget to top your grilled chicken with my mouth-watering White Barbecue Sauce!
HOW DO I KNOW IF MY CHICKEN IS COOKED
The perfect internal temperature is 165°f for dark meat and 160°F for white. I recommend getting an instant-read thermometer. As well, when you’re checking the chicken, always check the thickest part of the chicken. (Here’s a chart for Safe Cooking Temperatures for all meats.)
If you don’t have an instant-read thermometer, you can cut it in the middle to check that it’s just about opaque in the center and the juices run clear.
Whether your grilling, baking, or air-frying chicken, how long to cook chicken really depends on how big the chicken pieces are. Larger bone-in chicken will take longer than boneless chicken.

These are so cool Paula!!! I don’t use meat thermometers much, but my other half really likes to double check everything and all the thermometers he buys are kind of unreliable! He would totally dig these! Plus your white BBQ sauce recipe is AWESOME. Yesss.

I love the sensor! I’m always worried about getting my family sick from not cooking the chicken enough. And you’re so right about over cooking, just to make sure. I’m going to have to order these!
Those sensors look so handy! We’ll definitely have to try them this football season for our tailgates. And that chicken looks absolutely amazing! Excited to try your white barbeque sauce with it!
Those sensors are so cool! I’m going to have to try them when I make this amazing chicken recipe. Pinning!
Those sensors are really great! I have never seen anything like them. Your chicken is amazing too, by the way.
Thanks so much, Ginny!
So, these are pretty cool! And no need to worry about an expensive meat thermometer coming up “missing” at your next tailgate! 😉
