Fudge Better Than Boxed Brownies are rich, fudgy, decadent and delicious! This brownie recipe is irresistible. They’re the perfect treat and sure to delight.
Everyone loves the chocolate boxed brownies with their crinkly top and fudge center. Being the baker that I am, I aimed to create a brownie that is better than the boxed mix.
Fudge Better Than Boxed Brownies
Personally, I think these Fudge Better Than Boxed Brownies are perfection! They are thick, chewy, and have that crinkly top. For me, there’s a fine line with a brownie being too ‘cakey’ or too ‘fudge-like’. (Fudge like the candy.) The texture of this recipe is the ideal ratio of ingredients.
How do I make clean-cut brownies?
Itโs important to cut them when theyโre completely cool, otherwise youโll have an ooey gooey mess and brownies that lose their shape.
Take the biggest knife you have, preferably one thatโs the length of the entire pan of brownies. Then just cut straight down in one swift motion rather than dragging through the brownies.
Between each cut, wipe off your knife with a damp paper towel. Any remaining crumbs will grab onto the brownies as youโre cutting, leading to a messy edge.
Make one cut down the middle of the pan, then down the middle of each half. Thatโs the best way to
How to serve brownies
I like warm brownies. Therefore, I like to cut them as directed above. To serve, I heat each one individually in the microwave for 10 seconds or so. They great served warm with vanilla ice cream and chocolate or caramel sauce.
How to store brownies
Store the brownies in an airtight container on the counter for 1 week. In the refrigerator, they’ll last a couple of days more before they start to dry out.
Can I make Fudge Better Than Boxed Brownies ahead of time?
Yes, you can make them and freeze them, wrapping tightly, for up to 3 months. Sit them in the refrigerator the night before you want to serve them. Then allow them to come to room temperature on the counter for a few hours before serving.
Can I add nuts?
Absolutely, 1/2 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts would be wonderful! Bake as directed.
