Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined, tail on or off (453 g)
  • ยฝ cup buttermilk 4.22 fluid oz | 125 ml
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ยผ teaspoon sea salt
  • ยผ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ยพ cup cornstarch 4.2 oz | 120 g
  • Oil to fry

Bang Bang Sauce

  • ยฝ cup mayonnaise 4 oz | 115 g
  • 3 tablespoon sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce

Instructions

  • Pat dry shrimp and place in a medium bowl. Pour buttermilk in it and stir gently. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  • In a shallow bowl, combine salt, pepper and cornstarch. Set aside.
  • Heat about 2 cups of vegetable oil on high heat in 10-inch Cast Iron Skillet.
  • Remove shrimp one by one. Let the buttermilk drip off. Dip in the cornstarch and place in hot oil. Repeat the same with all shrimp.
  • When the shrimp is nicely golden, remove and set on a serving platter with paper towels.
  • Bang Bang Sauce: Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Drizzle half on the shrimp and toss gently to coat.
  • Serve in tacos with the rest of the bang bang sauce.
