Crock Pot Honey Garlic Chicken Recipe
This is such an easy recipe to make. And, as I said, my whole family likes it. The ingredients are simple. In fact, you probably already have them on hand. And, the method, well, it doesn’t get any simpler than putting everything in the slow cooker and walking away!
There are two ingredients that make this recipe in my opinion. The hoisin sauce and the fresh ginger. Hoisin has a bold, unique flavor. It doesn’t take much, but it adds a distinctive flavor that I haven’t been able to duplicate with any other ingredients. As well, fresh ginger has a zing that is irreplaceable! No, ground ginger is not the same. I highly recommend you splurge on these two items if you don’t have them.
Hoisin sauce can usually be found in the Asian section of your grocery store or here.
Fresh ginger is with the produce. You will need just a small ‘knob’ (or is it ‘knuckle’?🤔) of ginger.
For the chicken…
I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts (as always). However, you can use bone-in chicken breasts or thighs. In step three below, simply remove the meat from the bone then shred. Continue with the recipe as written.

If I double the recipe, should I double the cooking time?
The cooking time may be a little longer but it won’t be much. You’ll just need to test it.
