Best Dark Chocolate Truffles Recipe
I realize I should make something savory for you. I promise I don’t just make desserts. But desserts are more fun to make, more fun to eat and they photograph a lot easier than brown rice with brown gravy.
This recipe can be made ahead and perfect to serve for a crowd.
Additionally, you can coat them in whatever you like best.
Let’s just go with desserts once or twice… or a dozen more times for the holidays, k?
Truffles are elegant for gift-giving. My Best Dark Chocolate Truffles Recipeย has only 3 ingredients plus whatever you decide to top them with. I like toย chill the mixture in the refrigerator a few hours, this way you get a smooth, firm ball to dip in the chocolate.
It’s easier if you use a small spring-release scoop or melon baller and scoop small balls. Then simply roll in your choice of coating: chocolate (white or dark), coconut, chopped nuts, toffee, peppermint, sprinkles (ohhhh chocolate and sprinkles, swoon!) cocoa, or confectioners sugar. The possibilities are endless.

I would like to make these for a wedding. I have to make 300. Can you give me an idea how many this recipe will make so I can adjust? Thanks!
Hi Kevlynn, I got around 30 ‘2-bite’ truffles. They were about an inch. I updated the recipe, sorry for that omission. Hope everyone enjoys them!
Delicious and simple. Please tell me how to add me to your list so I may receive your public shares and notifications!!
What are chocolate candy melts?
It’s called both almond bark and/or chocolate wafers
No almond bark is ‘white chocolate’ which really isn’t chocolate at all. Chocolate wafers are specifically made to coat candies. It melts smoother. There’s a pic of them in this post https://www.callmepmc.com/how-to-melt-chocolate-call-me-pmc/
Would it be possible to add Kahlua or other liqueur to these?
Yes, just reduce the liqued by the amount of Kahlua you use.
How delicious are these chocolate truffles! I love how easy and simple the recipe is and how little ingredients it requires.. definitely perfect for me to try out!
Thanks so much! I’m all about simple…. because I’m so impatient ๐

Truffles are my favorite around the holidays! I love this dark chocolate version and the pecans and coconut topping sound perfect!
Mine too, thanks Kelly!
i’ve had to stop making truffles as i eat them all!
Same here, I send them to neighbors :/
I don’t like all chocolate, just dark chocolate, and just quality dark chocolate. Those truffles look AMAZING and I’m so on that recipe! Thank you. And thank you that it’s so easy. Now if I can limit myself to just one! LOL
I’m usually pretty good about not eating too much chocolate, I’m more of a cake with lots of icing girl, but I couldn’t help myself with these.
